Question 1

What is MacSuite?

Accepted Answer

A bundle of 11 native Mac apps sold under one license. You pay once and every app unlocks.

Question 2

Can I use it today?

Accepted Answer

Screen Bolt and Gubb are available now. The other apps are in development or planned — they're marked "Coming soon" and can't be downloaded yet.

Question 3

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each app runs for 7 days on each Mac without a key, and each app has its own trial.

Question 4

Do the apps send my data anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. The apps work offline and contain no analytics or telemetry. The only request every app makes is the license check with Polar, which sends your key and an activation label for your Mac — never your files. The privacy policy lists the details.

Question 5

Do I need to be online?

Accepted Answer

Only to activate and to re-check the license. A licensed app keeps working offline for up to 7 days between checks.

Question 6

Is it a subscription?

Accepted Answer

No. It's a one-time purchase.

Question 7

How does the license work?

Accepted Answer

You get one key. Enter it in any MacSuite app and every MacSuite app on that Mac unlocks — one key per Mac, not per app.

Question 8

How many Macs?

Accepted Answer

Up to 3. Each Mac counts once, however many MacSuite apps you use on it.

Question 9

Can I move my license to a new Mac?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose Deactivate on this Mac in any MacSuite app on the old Mac, or email hi@smartspreadsheets.co if you no longer have it.

Question 10

Can I buy the apps individually?

Accepted Answer

No. The new apps are only sold as part of the bundle.

Question 11

Does it work with Mac App Store versions?

Accepted Answer

No. The license unlocks the direct-download versions from this site.

Question 12

What do I need?

Accepted Answer

The new apps need macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Question 13

Who handles payment?

Accepted Answer

Polar, our merchant of record. It processes the payment, handles sales tax or VAT, and emails your receipt and key.

Question 14

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes — see the refund policy. A refunded key is revoked and the apps lock again.
