MacSuite is built to keep your data on your Mac. This policy explains exactly what the apps and this website send over the network. “We” means the MacSuite team.
The apps work offline
The MacSuite apps do their work on your Mac. There is no analytics, telemetry, advertising or crash-reporting code in the apps, and we don't receive your files, screenshots, emails, clipboard contents, scans or usage. (macOS itself may offer to send crash reports to Apple, depending on your system settings — that is between you and Apple.)
License checks (all apps)
License checks are the only network requests the apps make to a service we chose. They go to Polar's license API at api.polar.shwhen you enter a key, when a licensed app starts and re-checks it (if you're offline it keeps working for up to 7 days) and when you deactivate a Mac. They contain only:
- your license key;
- MacSuite's organisation ID and license-benefit ID at Polar (the same for every customer);
- when activating a Mac, an activation label made of the Mac's model identifier and its computer name (for example “Mac15,3 — Alex's MacBook Pro”), so you can tell your Macs apart, plus the name of the app you activated from;
- afterwards, the activation ID Polar returned for that Mac.
The license state is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/MacSuite/ on your Mac, signed with a key kept in your login Keychain. It is tied to your Mac with a one-way hash of the hardware UUID; the UUID itself is never stored or sent. Trial start dates are stored only on your Mac.
App by app
- Mailloftconnects only to the mail servers of the accounts you add (IMAP and SMTP). Your passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain. Remote images in a message load only if you allow them for that message. One-click unsubscribe contacts the sender's unsubscribe address only after you confirm. Thread summaries are made on your Mac.
- Pixfinch keeps screenshots, recordings, history and the text it reads from screenshots on your Mac. Sharing happens only when you use the macOS share sheet, AirDrop or drag a file somewhere.
- Notchjar keeps clipboard history, the scratchpad and shelf files on your Mac. To show album art, it may download the artwork image from the address supplied by the app that is playing.
- Gigabroom scans, Gizmojar conversions and transcriptions, and Bytepliers tools and history all run and stay on your Mac.
- Procowl keeps its activity history (up to 30 days) on your Mac.
- Codelasso runs the command-line tools you choose (AI agents,
git,gh); those tools connect to their own services under their own terms. If you turn on phone alerts, it sends the line “Agent <name> needs you” to the ntfy server address you entered — nothing else.
Updates
The apps don't check for updates automatically yet. If we add an optional update check, this page will say what it sends before it ships.
Purchases
Checkout is run by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email address, billing details and payment information to process the order and taxes. We receive your email address, name, country and order details from Polar so we can deliver your license and provide support. We never see your full card details.
This website
The site sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or analytics; see the Cookie notice. It remembers your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your browser. The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and keeps short-lived request logs for security and reliability, under Vercel's privacy policy. We don't use those logs to track or profile visitors.
Support email
If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you and follow up.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, subject to legal record-keeping requirements (for example, tax records). Email hi@smartspreadsheets.co. For payment data, you can also contact Polar directly.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change; the “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
